Job Summary
We're looking to hire a Senior Technical Product Manager who can hold the engineering relationship, raise the reliability floor, and push the product surface into new capabilities — Safelock APIs, credit primitives, bulk disbursements. This is a high-ownership role. You'll write the specs, run the discovery, own the roadmap, and be the face of the platform to our partners. If you want a role where the work is visible and the impact is direct, this is it.
Job Details
- API Platform Roadmap Ownership: Own the end-to-end roadmap for the API platform, from infrastructure reliability improvements through to new product capabilities.
- Partner Discovery & Integration Insights: Lead structured discovery with partner businesses to surface integration pain, unmet needs, and churn risk — and translate findings into feature-level PRDs with endpoint-level specificity.
- Technical Product Documentation & API Specifications: Write clear, technically precise product documentation including API specs, webhook payload definitions, response schemas, and integration guides.
- Developer Experience Standards & Enablement: Define and maintain the developer experience standard — covering documentation quality, sandbox reliability, onboarding flow, and partner-facing communications.
- Infrastructure Issue Triage & Resolution Prioritisation: Triage and prioritise partner-reported infrastructure issues, working closely with engineering to scope root causes and sequence fixes against partner risk.
- Product-Driven System Design Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering on system design decisions with product implications, including idempotency strategy, event delivery guarantees, and settlement timing contracts.
- Partner Communication, SLA & Incident Management: Manage the partner relationship layer, incident communications, SLA expectations, and escalation paths — ensuring partners are never in the dark during a production issue.
- Platform Health Metrics & Performance Tracking: Define and track platform health metrics including webhook reliability, balance integrity, integration adoption, and partner NPS.
Requirements
- 4–7 years in product management, with at least 2 years on a developer-facing or API product
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Have shipped a developer-facing product — an API, SDK, or B2B platform — and can speak to the tradeoffs you made on DX, documentation, and reliability.
- Can read and critique API documentation, identify missing endpoints or undocumented constraints, and write endpoint-level specs without engineering doing it for you.
- Understand async payment flows: why idempotency keys matter, how webhook delivery guarantees work, and what settlement timing implies for balance integrity.
- Have managed partner or customer escalations with real financial exposure — and know the difference between a holding message and a root cause.
- Take a partner-first approach to prioritisation: weigh financial risk, operational burden, and churn probability — not just severity labels.
- Can write product specs that engineers can build from without a verbal walkthrough — precise, assumption-explicit, and scoped.
- Know how to define and measure platform health: SLAs, reliability metrics, integration funnel, and partner satisfaction signals.
- Have direct experience in B2B fintech, embedded finance, or business banking. This is a hard requirement, not a preference.
